FrogFest

The Friends of Heartland Forest held their fifth annual Frog Fest on May 5-6. Volunteers and individual groups were on hand with live creatures, displays, crafts and various outdoor activities. It was a great time to learn about the forests many protected native plants, trees, amphibians and birds who call Heartland Forest their home. Saturday’s special guest was noted fisherman and a director of Heartland Forest Italo Labignan who demonstrated the art of tying flies and tips on casting for fish. On Sunday, Rob McIntosh from Pure Fishing brought in his fishing boat and provided lots of tips and information to anglers.
