Motorcycle Ride for Dad
The Niagara Chapter of the Motorcycle Ride For Dad (MRFD) was held on May 29 at Queenston Heights Park. The ride event is hosted annually by the NRP, OPP and the NPP. Hundreds of avid motorcyclists joined this year’s celebrity captain NHL Hall of Famer Marcel Dionne as they embarked on a scenic 180 km five poker stop throughout the Niagara Region. Co-chaired by NRP Staff SGT. Joe Maggiolo and Damien Parent (retired NRP), the event began with remarks from local doctors, organizations, a prostate cancer survivor and MPP Kim Craitor, also a survivor. One in seven men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Funds raised from the charity ride will support prostate cancer research and education at the new Walker Cancer Centre opening in 2013. Ride representatives were optimistic to top last year’s total of $26,000. To donate to the cause go to www.motorcycleridefordad.org. View more photos at http://snapd.at/pe9byj
