Great Strides - Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a very common, complex and often fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. CF is a multi-organ disease primarily affecting the lungs and digestive system. As there is no known cure, friends, families and co-workers of people with CF participate in the “Great Strides - Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis” fundraising events. On May 30th, this year’s annual local and regional walk was held at Safari Niagara ZooZ in Stevensville. With a pledge of $20 per walker, over 800 participants gained access into the park for the day and enjoyed a free BBQ, live entertainment, prizes, face painting and a close up look at the wildlife and animals.
