Social Justice Knowledge Put To Work
On Wednesday January 27th, the students of Mother Teresa Catholic School celebrated their learning through a Canadian Exhibit. The gym was transformed into an exhibit showing both the past and present through the eyes of social justice. The exhibit featured historical facts, however this contemporary museum also realized that linking the past to present issues helps students understand the importance of history. Students put that knowledge of social justice history to work by raising money for the tragedy in Haiti. The grades seven and eight students have raised $670.40 just by bringing in spare change. Students also baked and sold Pizzelle’s (Italian cookies) to raise $283.59 to help those in need in Haiti.
